The future is here! this is an imaginative model of mine that follows in the foodsteps of my original fictional Hypercar. the NVR S&P-01. This is the NVR S&P-78. An imagination of what a hypercar would look like when racing in the 2099 WEC series. So before I go into the details of this model, allow me to tell you a bit more about the world this car would race in and what it brings to the table:
“Ever since the launch of the S&P-01 in 2022, NVR has been one of the leading manufacturers in the WEC. With the introduction of a brand new class for the 2099 regulations called Le Mans Supreme Class, NVR is bringing in a radicale design change for their flagship racer! The Supreme class focusses on light weight ground effect cars with minimal bodywork and short noses. For the first time since the 1980’s drivers are allowed to sit partly before the front wheels because of the extreme revolutions in strong rollcages. The S&P-78 has a 6 cilinder engine powered by alternative zero-emission fuels. Besides that it includes 2 electric motors that add up to over 1100 horsepower. The car is easily recognizable by its white cover that gets narrower the more it flows to the rear. Underneath is the chassis which also houses elements such as the front/rear lights and the dual shark fins. All LMSC cars use a similar configuration for their cars. Because of its white cover and hyper acceleration the car looks like a white blur on track. Which is why it received the nickname: Ghost. To keep this monster on track a very special lineup of drivers was needed. In 2099 NVR introduced a brand new lineup for their number 7 car consisting of the grandsons of some legendary F1 drivers and Nard Verbong jr. The 78 also sees a change in main sponsors. As Zesty replaces 8It Up as main sponsor. Though both are still proud sponsors of NV RACING.”
Anyway, thats storytime done. I had a lot of fun with the design of this car. my goal was to come up with a shape that is as different from any of the current hypercars as possible. Yet recognizable enough that it can be seen as a follow up from that series. It was a real challenge to get some of the desired shapes in here. and to make it fit a minifig. though I did succeed in that aspect. Its a snug fit though. and works best if you remove the nose. speaking of removing things, this model is sadly a little more fragile then my usual MOC’s. because of the rather “extreme shaping” I just had to make a few compromises. though nothing is flimsy after completion, but you could very easily knock a few bits off if you handle it like a cavemen. just the way it is sadly. the build itself is luckily not very fiddley and the over all experience should still be more then good enough.
