McLaren F1 GTR 1995

The McLaren F1 is arguably one of the most extraordinary cars from the 90s, or ever in that sense. At some point it was the fastest car on the planet, had a central seating position, and was designed by the legendary Gordan Murray, inspired by F1 cars.
The F1, although fast and remarkable, was never designed to compete in endurance races, and although the car received some upgrades to keep it running for 24 hours, it wasn’t a full-on developmeent of McLaren. Quite some F1 GTR’s ran in the 1995 running of the 24 hours of Le Mans, such as the Harrods and Gulf liveries, and the eventual winner, the black Tokyo Ueno Clinic car. This was the prototype car from McLaren themselves to test all the updates on. In the wettest ever race, with roughly 17 hours of wet and damp conditions, the McLaren beated the competition and secured its mayden and only win in France.
